This weekend I attended a fussy cutting workshop with Christina of Fabric Pop, at local quilt shop Needles & Bolts. Three hours of giddy delight.

I took lots of fabric bits to add to the communal swap pile, but I took home many new to me bits, and also bought some fat quarters from Christina. On my way to the workshop, I also visited another nearby quilt shop, Cut & Sew, where I purchased yet more fabric. So stash was not reduced.

Workstations were equipped with these happy little irons (for scale, the fabric squares are 2″). By the end I was convinced I needed a wee iron, and a wool pressing mat, and and and. Now that I’m home and somewhat calmer, I think I should stick with my current setup, which requires me to get up frequently to press etc. I need built in reasons to move around. (But the iron did work well and is available on Amazon. I may have added it to my wishlist just in case.) But I do think I will be doing more fussy cutting. I can’t stop looking at the small panel I made.
I think I just need to commit to posting regularly, and have faith that I’ll figure out how to properly format this blog as I go.
